Pointed observations. I wonder to what extent Berlin overcame the shackles of communism on its own. It was a blessing and a curse to have a rich brother living next door, ready to spend billions and move their capital over. I doubt your observations would have been the same if we had a democratic but separate East Germany. It must have also helped that a majority of Berlin was never communist.

You hit the nail on the head when you wrote The chains of communism may have been removed but the city still isn’t free of those shackles. It is so true not only in Prague but in the rest of the country as well. After the revolution we thought that it will take the communist to die out until we renew - now we find out the children of the communists are at least of the same harm and that it will take much longer.

About the way to architecture - not only bombing but also intended demolition brought Europe cities their wide boulevards! Like Napoleon brought to Paris. Prague 1 is, thanks to this, a window to the past, when people used to walk places.
