A few days ago I was sorting through some old papers and I came across a prayer I’d written about a year ago. It really spoke to me today and I thought I’d share it with you all.

Breakfast Prayer

Today we return to God and to one another
Today, we choose again to follow and obey
Today, we choose again to look for God and listen when we hear his still small voice
Today, we come to His table and ask again for his grace

Our father who art in heaven,
hallowed by thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever.

This day we accept, Lord God, whatever you may bring our way.
With open hands we accept this food that has been prepared and the day that stretches out before us.
Give us strength to face every obsticale,
guidance for every discussion,
and your presence to walk with us this day.
In Jesus name. Amen
