Advent Art Exhibit Opening

The art exhibit is in full swing and will be going on until Thursday. We did have to reduce the hours a bit, but it’s a good thing and I’m feeling good about where it’s at and what we’ve learned in the process. The best part of the week so far has definitely been the Opening on Thursday night. We had a great turn out (I didn’t get a head count, but I’d guess around 45 or so – we gave out over 60 tickets for it so I guess we could have had up to that many but I think it was a little less). Here are a few pictures from the Opening so you can get an idea of what I’ve been up to lately:

I’ll leave you with this Advent Prayer by Henri Nouwen that a friend just shared with me yesterday. I hope it speaks to you as much as it spoke to me:

Lord, Jesus, Master of both the light and the darkness, send your Holy Spirit upon our preparations for Christmas. We who have so much to do seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day. We who are anxious over many things look forward to your coming among us. We who are blessed in so many ways long for the complete joy of your kingdom. We whose hearts are heavy seek the joy of your presence. We are your people, walking in darkness, yet seeking the light. To you we say, “Come Lord Jesus!” Amen.
