Something that constantly amazes me is the way people, even those who don’t know us, continually jump in to support my girl. Nicole Woolsey is one of those people. I’ve never met her, but she’s friends with a friend of mine and when she heard about Sage’s auction she and her husband both jumped in right away with donations (her husband donated the autographed pictures of Billy Sims & Randy White).
Nicole has been incredibly sweet in her emails and I am so deeply grateful for her generosity and quick willingness to help.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t remember the last time I had a facial or treated myself to something like that. Maybe you’re the same? Maybe, like me, you spend all day taking care of everyone else and it’s a miracle if you even remember to wash your face at night, let alone apply makeup in the morning.
For all of you who, like me, carry around the message that doing something for yourself is “selfish” and who wouldn’t typically be willing to spend money on this kind of treatment for yourself, here is the perfect opportunity to trick your brain, take care of yourself, and not feel selfish for doing it.
When those voices inside you rise up and say, “You shouldn’t be doing this. You should be spending your money on something for someone else instead of pampering yourself.” You can reply firmly, “This is for Sage.” And move right along with taking care of yourself :)
