Celebrate good beer at The Shop Beer Co.
The Shop Beer Co was rated one of Forbes Top 50 Fastest Growing Breweries in 2018 and two of our friends were involved in starting it. Mikel Anne Arnce and Michael Buckmaster (who’s wife is donating this) are both two of the coolest people I know and both old friends of mine from high school.
When I first went to The Shop Beer Co I was instantly taken back to little breweries we visited in Europe with outdoor patio “beer gardens.” We sat on the patio with Bryan’s family and visited while sampling different specialty beers they made themselves. Bryan and I went through a season of home brewing regularly, but our beers never tasted as good as the ones at The Shop Beer Co.
Since we were there with Mikel Anne, and at a quiet time, she even gave us a tour of the brewery, which was super cool. I snapped this shot while we were there (from left to right: Bryan, my brother-in-law, Bryan’s dad, and me):
One of the things I love about The Shop Beer Co is their involvement in supporting and celebrating female brewers. Each year since they opened they’ve done an AZ Women’s Collab Brew event, where they’ve gathered woman brewers from around the state to make a collaborative brew together. This years creation was cleverly called, “Murder She Oat.”
